The first written down record of Headingley is from the Domesday book but archeological work suggests people were settling here in Roman Times

During the industrial revolution Headingley almost reluctantly grew as the more wealthy inhabitants of neighbouring Leeds sought refuge away from the grime and squalour of the City.

Today Headingley is possibly best known as the home of Yorkshire County Cricket Club and as a venue for some of the most important games of cricket the world over.

http://www.headingley.org/home is a website that links local people up, in local networks, where members can browse around and find social networking, emailing lists, information resources and photos of parts of Headingley.
